The next annex of the Festival will feature presentations by students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin: Natalia Sara Skorupa, Amelia Pelc-Gonera, and Kacper Janowski. We will showcase the documentation of recent performative actions by these young creative individuals.
Natalia Sara Skorupa (she/her) – born on January 18, 1999, in Szczecin. Daughter of Beata and Jerzy, she is a sociologist, filmmaker, and curator by education. In her artistic practice, she focuses on all kinds of audiovisual forms in the context of sexuality and corporeality. She often uses the medium of performance, where she explores the boundaries of pain in the perception of transgression in art and the relationship formed between the audience and the artist as an essential concept of externalization, or so-called artistic vivisection. In 2022, she received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and her works have been recognized in Taiwan, Dubai, Singapore, Mexico, Germany, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, India, Chile, Italy, Austria, Brussels, Colombia, and in several cities in Poland.
Amelia Pelc-Gonera
An artist from Łódź whose main interest for over a decade has been dance and hip-hop culture. A first-year Media Arts student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin, she began her interest in performance with the start of her studies, where she sought correlations between this art form and movement.
Kacper Janowski
A visual artist, performer, and student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin. He treats art as a form of play, still exploring and experimenting with various media. Recently, he has been particularly fascinated by the psychological and physical boundaries he possesses. He only started using performance in January 2024. His artistic actions quickly gained attention, resulting in his participation in the “Wykon II” Performance Festival organized by Galeria Ul in Gdańsk. He was also invited by the Performance Art Foundation in Lublin to address the current state of Europe and perform at one of their events. Thanks to his intense work, the artist has established collaborations with theaters in Szczecin. He also participated in the Polish-German performative project “Walls of Europe.” He is currently working on several projects that will soon come to light.
