We are pleased to announce that the film from the “(Non-)Presence” Performance Festival, which took place on June 20-21, 2024, at RABRYKA / Second Attempt e.V. in Görlitz, is now available. This unique event brought together leading performance artists from Poland and Germany and attracted significant public interest.
Curated by Agnieszka Chodysz-Foryś and coordinated on the German side by Krzysztof Dobrowolski, the festival featured artists such as Janusz Bałdyga, Dariusz Fodczuk, Edka Jarząb, Jerzy Kosałka, Tomasz Opania, Jarosław Słomski, Wiktoria Sobota, Joanna Urbańska, Liliana Zeic, as well as Paweł “Pajde” Dunajko, Eduarda Bones & Sara Gut, and DANSING Queens with DJ sets.
The festival also included archival performance screenings, such as:
- Alicja Żebrowska, To Stone, 1993, Center for Polish Sculpture in Orońsko,
- Natalia LL, Points of Support, 1980,
- Waldemar Tatarczuk, In-Between, 1991, Lublin Theater Studio,
- Janusz Bałdyga, Steps, 1998, Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw.
In addition, there was a screening of the documentary performance by Jerzy Kosałka and Tomasz Opania titled We Don’t Give a Damn About Putin’s Gas, as well as presentations of works by students from the Academy of Art in Szczecin.
The festival was organized by the Culture and Art Center in Wrocław, in cooperation with RABRYKA / Second Attempt e.V. in Görlitz, with partners including Streifen Performance Art Festival and the Polish Institute in Prague.
